The Department of Conservation and Energy Efficiency shall be specialised in the following:
  1. Conducting technical studies related to electric and hydraulic devices in order to develop new specifications for such devices that contribute to improving the efficient use of available water and electric resources, in coordination with the competent administrative units.
  2. Proposing legislation relating to the activities and programmes of conservation of electricity and water consumption in the State.
  3. Coordinating with the concerned bodies in the State with regard to the activities and programmes of conservation of electricity and water consumption.
  4. Preparing basic studies to develop an integrated educational programme for awareness and conservation in the consumption of electricity and water.
  5. Conducting comprehensive national awareness campaigns on conservation of electricity and water consumption in the State, in coordination with the competent administrative units.
  6. Preparing periodic reports on the development of conservation and awareness programmes.
